Spanish Meatballs in Barcelona How to master keto! I don't think there is a better place for inspiration about this post than in Spain where meat, cheese and vegetables are a staple PLUS they are famous for their "tapas" or small bites which really helps when it comes to mastering keto! What I love about spending 3 days in Spain is the SMALL portions! I love food and when I travel I love to taste the different cuisines so to be able to order a tapa is my favourite thing. When I am in different countries or at home I tend to order appetizers or when I make meals I put only a small portion on a small plate to make it appear that I am eating more. When mastering keto I have come up with a plan that worked for literally every client that tried it. For starters, most people will go through the sugar cravings that can be so hard to manage the first 4 days. There is something called "keto flu" that occurs when your body is going through the sugar detox phase so what I suggested was doing "dirty keto" the first 1-7 days and THEN making the transition to "clean keto" for the rest of your life! Keto is basically cutting out sugar and starch - things we shouldn't have anyway. So here's the breakdown for "dirty keto", "clean keto" and "keto for life" I have heard from many clients that "keto is too hard" or keto is too restrictive" or my favorite is "keto is unhealthy" WHAT?? Again in simplest terms KETO CUTS OUT SUGAR AND STARCH and focuses on PROTEIN AND VEGETABLES There is nothing healthy about sugar and the starchy foods such as breads, pastas and even potatoes turn to SUGAR in our body. If you think feeding yourself or your child toast or cereal with a banana in the morning followed with a glass of apple or orange juice is healthy then please google, research, buy books just educate yourself on healthy eating.
