My Costa Rican walking buddy I called her Polka Dot Jan 2022 Waking up exhausted is not a great way to start the day. I used to feel like that and I had to make changes. Before I even start I think you know what I am going to say…EXERCISE and you will roll your eyes and say you don’t have time but I’m here to tell you to MAKE time! It’s too important to your health to not make time for exercise. This is literally the simplest thing you can do to start the day and it doesn’t require that much time. Sunrise in Costa Rica Jan 2022 Get up an hour earlier than usual Getting up and getting outside is the quickest and easiest way to rev up your energy first thing in the morning. Trust me I didn’t want to do this at first either but I still dragged my ass out of bed and power walked for 20 minutes. It did make me feel better, made the dogs happier, and that first day I even made fresh muffins for the girls before school. I found I absolutely LOVED the mornings, and trust me, I was NOT a morning person before. To this day I love getting up early, my energy levels are the highest in the morning and I do get more done and you will too! End your day with a walk as well Walking helps gets your bowels moving when taking fiber! Sunset in Costa Rica Drink your fiber in the morning with 8-10oz of warm water as soon as you wake up! Did you know ancient chinese medicine has a theory that drinking a glass or two of warm water in the morning helps aid blood flow and kick starts digestion. Better yet, drink down that “nasty” teaspoon of fiber with your warm water in the morning. I always find the fiber goes down a bit easier when we are thirsty. Lemon water While you already have warm water ready you might as well squeeze ½ lemon into another mug and add a dash of cayenne. Do this after your walk and sip it while you get ready for the day. The cayenne will kick start your metabolism and the lemon is a great wake up call for your liver to detox a bit first thing in the morning before you have had a chance to eat any food. Try these 3 simple things, exercise, fiber and lemon water and see how you feel after a solid week of this new routine! I bet you will be hooked! Thank you for following my journey to writing a book series!
Stay balanced, LeeAnna
