Healthy options are amazing! Stir Fry Bowl - Edmonton This week I was in Canada, being a tourist in my own town and eating out at every amazing restaurant in the city. How did I do this and not gain a pound? First things first - Eat out at good quality restaurants. If you think KFC is a restaurant then you will love my book Holistic Health Series for Junk food Junkies because it will help you! Second and super important - Change your mindset, instead of thinking of all the things you “can’t” or “shouldn’t” order when eating out, think of all the amazing menu items that are healthy and ones that you would never cook at home because of the ingredients or the time it takes to prepare, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO ORDER! One of my favorite things to order is an amazing salad or grilled vegetables with either salmon, chicken or shrimp. Making really amazing salads at home isn’t hard but it is time consuming and you have to have many ingredients on hand to make it extraordinary so I like to order these at restaurants. I order the dressing on the side so I control how much and I am rarely disappointed with my meal. Third and most fun - the best part of eating out is trying the yummy dishes so if you can, order the salad and share it, order the appetizer and share it, order an entree and share it. Then you can have many fun dishes and keep your portion size down. Fourth and a game changer- is to eat out EARLY. If you eat out at 8pm-10pm then go to bed that food will just turn to fat because you have had no time to burn off the glucose as energy. One of my favorite times to eat out is to meet friends for a “late lunch”, it's less busy at 2-4pm, it's cheaper because you have the lunch menu and you have plenty of time to burn off the food you just ate! Here are some more ways to eat out and still maintain your healthy lifestyle.
Life is all about balance and part of a healthy lifestyle is socializing, having friends and enjoying life so eat the dessert…just have a bite though! Thank you for following my journey to writing a book series! Stay balanced, LeeAnna Thank you for following my journey to write a book series!
