Walking the ocean front in Naxos, Greece was great exercise! Left the lovely island of Naxos, Greece to come to Malta! This month Malta is kicking my ass! There are stairs everywhere! I didn't rent a car since they drive on the other side so I am walking all the time! Want to lower your odds of dying of heart disease? Then walk A LOT! It’s time to sneak exercise in and it can be as easy as taking an extra 4,000 steps per day. If you don’t like the stairs, just walk but the point is to just do something! Malta is FULL of stairs! Touring around Europe definitely makes it easier to get the exercise in but at home it's easy to fall into the same routine so you must make the effort to change it. Start small, park farther away, take the stairs, walk the dog, or borrow a dog just make the effort every single day. Just give yourself a week to form the habit of being more active and once you start you won’t regret it! Studies have found that short bursts of high intensity exercise such as stair climbing can make a significant difference in the health of your heart and lungs. As you take in more oxygen you replenish your muscles with oxygen-rich blood and over time you will increase your heart and lung function and improve your overall endurance. I guarantee if you write down all the ways you could get some exercise into your day you would be shocked, your body would be shocked and you WILL start feeling better, eating better and sleeping better. Ways to Make Time for Exercise With a Busy Schedule
Every little bit helps. Imagine getting up 20 min early just to walk for 15min before you get ready in the morning. Then during the day you sneak in 10 min here and there so you end up doing 30min of walking or taking the stairs. Then in the evening you walk 15 min after dinner. That is an hour right there! See it’s not so hard. You can do it! Thank you for following my journey to writing a book series!
Stay balanced, LeeAnna
