Choices…everyday, wherever we are, we choose what to feed our bodies. I often heard in my practice that it’s too hard to eat healthy when eating out but I find that’s the easiest time because you can order “healthy” food and you eat it! You order “unhealthy” food and you eat it, your choice! This is a Greek Gyro salad for tonight’s meal (which is at 4:30pm). I also eat super early compared to most people in Greece or in general but that gives me time to digest before bed which I also go to sleep when most Greeks are going for dinner at 9pm! There are many healthy choices on menus, start with vegetables, fill up on that or soup in colder climates, then when you order, only eat 1/2 and save 1/2 for the next day or get one main entree to share with someone. Naxos, Greece Half Litre of Wine (not a bottle) Sharing the Saganaki Cheese! So good! How to make healthier food choices when out
I could choose the endless pastries here (the baklava is that good) or the many pasta dishes, pita bread and dips, even pizza with that yummy Naxian cheese (which I will have soon but I will exercise my portion control for sure!) but I want to feel healthy so I chose not to indulge. We only have one body to live in so take care of it! Thank you for following my journey to writing a book series!
Stay balanced, LeeAnna
