Came here to work, less distractions, rented an airbnb. Don't rent a car, traffic is brutal. Stay somewhere in an all inclusive the airbnbs are hit and miss and you probably will need a car. Uber is ok but there are inspectors that make it hard for the uber drivers because the govt owns the taxi guys
Some great restaurants
Funky Geisha - Beach access from Medano Beach, at the Taboo Hotel. Go early to get a table. 6-7pm as it gets busier 8-9pm. Everything on the menu looks delish. They start you out with crab stuffed wontons (complimentary) then we had

1st night Pame Paradiso - sketchy area at night so be choosy where you book into too
Pay extra for a nice hotel. Perianth Hotel was beautiful and Noel Restaurant was next door and at the top of my recommendations
Go see the Acropolis later in the day to avoid crowds, everyone tries to get their early. We still had a lineup beginning of Oct

Naxos
Alkyoni Beach Hotel - no, $200/night for a bed that had plastic sheets.
Amazing, fav so far. Argo Boutique Hotel was amazing
Everything was walking distance but you could rent a car for $25-40 or an ATV to check out the other beaches

Oia, Santorini
Overrated, wouldn't go back, I like sandy beaches but it was cool to see once because its Santorini.
You absolutely need a car to get around. The ferry is at the bottom of the mountain, we took the ferry from Naxos and didn't prebook a car but since it was end of Oct it was easy to grab a car right at the ferry station for $40/day. No issues. No deposits. Easy Peasy
I would not try to "wing" it in July or August!
Easy to drive around,
Visit the Wine Museum, amazing tour of the history of wine, great wine tasting at the end.
Beautiful wineries in the area, go see them all
Make sure you make your way to the famous sunset area in Oia, if you book any hotel there you will be able to walk to the place for the famous sunsets. I booked my online Aethrio Sunset Village. You will not be able to park close to your hotel in Oia so pack light. There are stairs and tiny, windy streets everywhere! I was just one night so I just had a small backpack.
